Nello's Corner Coordinator Mary Flenders earned both her Master's Degree in Education with Certification in Secondary School Counseling and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from West Chester University. She holds a Certificate for the completion of the Advanced Bereavement Facilitator course through the American Academy of Bereavement. She is currently working towards certification in Thanatology (death, dying and bereavement) from the Association of Death Education and Counseling. Mary’s role at the Center is to oversee the children’s bereavement support program, Nello’s Corner. In addition, Mary facilitates both children and adult groups, and aids in the recruitment and training of volunteers. Mary’s previous experience includes working with children and families since 1987 providing intervention, counseling, and group support in a variety of settings including the school, county agency, group home/foster care and the family home. She also served as a Coordinator for the following school programs: SAP (Student Assistance Program), SADD (Student’s Against Drunk Driving), DARE, Peer Mediation and Parent Education.
