Camp Millie

Up

Camp Millie is the Center’s summer bereavement camp for children offered during the last week of June.  Fun-filled and fast-paced, this half-day camp offers circle times, games, crafts and swimming which revolve around a summertime theme.  (For more detailed information about Camp Millie, click on the Programs link on our home page)   There are several volunteer opportunities within this program.

Camp Buddies (ages 20 and up) are assigned to specific campers and remain with them throughout the week.  They offer support, encouragement and friendship.  Both our three-day Volunteer Group Facilitator training course and Camp Training are required.  For training information and dates, click on the Upcoming training link under Volunteer Opportunities on our home page.

Activity Volunteers (ages 16 and up) assist with specified activities such as physical games or crafts.  These talented volunteers may also offer their expertise in the planning of the activities/crafts by offering suggestions and input.  Camp Training is required.  For training information and dates, click on the Upcoming training link under Volunteer Opportunities on our home page..

Part time Volunteers (ages 16 and up) are utilized as runners, fill-ins and added support during camp.  This position is for those who are unable to be present for every day of the camp.  Camp Training is required.  For training information and dates, click on the Upcoming training link under Volunteer Opportunities on our home page.

Camp Wranglers may assist the Center’s Crafty Hands volunteers with gathering needed materials and supplies for camp or assist with other behind the scenes planning.  No training or camp attendance required.  Email Lois or Mary if interested.
